UPDATE: House Fire 4500 Block in Bixby Knolls

Today at approximately 11:57am the LBFD was called to 4500 block Atlantic Avenue to report of a structure fire
upon arrival the initial engine company after 12:00 identified heavy smoke coming from the structure under pressure indicative of a working fire. Aggressive interior attack was made the company’s were supported by initial engine company with vertical ventilation operations performed by the truck company the fire was extinguished at 12:07pm. After rapid initial attack the was fire was confined to back rear bedroom there is extensive damage that back for bedroom in addition to some smoke damage in the house. Overall operations were performed and the fires currently being under investigation
by the Long Beach Fire Department fire investigation unit to determine cause and origin, in addition the family has asked for assistants from Red Cross to help with any assistance the family might need. Long beach Fire department with partnership of the California Fire Foundation has provided a hundred dollars safe-card which is a hundred dollar assistance to provide that arm around the family in this time of suffering catastrophic loss. 3 Adults and 1 child live in the house.
