Long Beach Police Use Baton & Taser on Man Interfering with Filming CSI: Cyber

The set of CSI: Cyber turned into its own crime scene when a suspect did not comply with Long Beach Police officers’ orders & a use of force baton & electronic control device occurred to affect the arrest.

About 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday an individual interfered with permitted filming activity where they are filming the CBS Televison series CSI: Cyber. The filming took place in the area of the Junipero Beach Lot near Cherry Avenue & 1st Street.

An officer who was assisting with the filming asked a male subject to leave several times, the suspect then spat on the officer & ran away.

The suspect ran onto the beach and into the water and LB lifeguards assisted officers. The suspect was transported to a local hospital & medically cleared before being booked. Demetrius Andreus Granvle, 37 years & a resident of Riverside, was booked for battery on emergency personnel and resisting/obstructing a peace officer. He is being held at Long Beach City Jail on $20,000 bail. The investigation ongoing
