New Retail Center, Long Beach Exchange, Broke Ground in East Long Beach

Residents in east Long Beach are soon to see more retail in the neighborhood.  This week, a retail center at Douglas Park called the Long Beach Exchange, broke ground.  Announced tenants include 365 by Wholefoods, Nordstrom Rack, Orchard Supply Hardware, and T.J. Maxx.  Potential plans also call for smaller retail businesses to open.  This groundbreaking is the next phase of the revitalization of the large parcel of land called Douglas Park that has housed aerospace giant Boeing for many years at the corner of Lakewood and Carson..

The Long Beach Exchange or LBX is expected to open as early as April, 2018.  In the meantime, this site plan shows the layout of the retail center:
