Armed Female Suspect Killed in Long Beach Officer-Involved Shooting

On  Wednesday at approx 11:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Studebaker Road & East Spring Street regarding a person with a gun call and shots fired. Officers arrived within minutes, encountered an armed female adult suspect, and an officer involved shooting occurred. Officers administered life saving measures until LBFD arrived. LBFD determined the suspect deceased at the scene. A handgun was found at the scene.

The male adult victim has been confirmed as an off-duty California highway patrol officer and the suspect  is the girlfriend of the officer. There are no outstanding suspects involved in this incident.

Long Beach Homicide detectives are on scene to begin their investigation of the officer involved shooting

Studebaker, between Spring & Wardlow, is closed to thru traffic

Investigation is ongoing.
