LBLN Breaking News: Long Beach City College Bomb Scare
Long Beach City College campus emergency was declared this morning at 9:00am at the Liberal arts campus 4901 East Carson Street Students, faculty and staff evacuated and all classes were canceled after police received an anonymous call warning about the possibility of a bomb inside a vehicle parked on campus.
After a 3 hour bomb squad investigation no explosive device was found and LBCC issued an ALL CLEAR email alert to all the students.
Long Beach Police Department has declared the situation regarding the possible explosive device as cleared. No device has been found.
Faculty, staff and students are being allowed to return to the evacuated buildings. The Carson St. pedestrian bridge is still closed. All classes that start after 2pm will resume as scheduled.
Long Beach Police department spokeswoman Marlene Arrona said by telephone that no actual bomb was discovered.
