Man Shot to Death in Labor Day Shooting
On Monday, September 7, 2015, around 9:51 p.m., Long Beach Police responded to a shooting in the 400 block of W. 5th Street, which resulted in the death of a male adult.
When officers arrived, they discovered a victim who had been struck by gunfire in the upper body. Long Beach Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the victim, in critical condition, to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office will make positive identification and notify next of kin.
A motive for the shooting is unknown. No suspect information is available at this time.
