Robbery Suspect Arrested and Charges filed against 26 year-old Chiffonce Pace
On September 8, 2015, felony charges were filed against a 26-year-old Long Beach man in connection with two armed robberies.
On August 15, 2015, at approximately 4:30 a.m., Long Beach Police were dispatched to a robbery that occurred in the area of 10th Street and Redondo Avenue. The preliminary investigation revealed an armed suspect approached the victim and demanded her property. Believing she was going to be shot, the victim handed over her property and the suspect fled. Fortunately, the victim was not injured. During their investigation, detectives discovered the same suspect may have committed another robbery on August 24, 2015.
On August 24, 2015, at approximately 12:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to a robbery that occurred in the 1000 block of Redondo Avenue. The investigation revealed that the suspect, armed with a handgun, directed the victim to a dark portion of the alley where the suspect demanded the victim’s property and ordered her to undress. During the ordeal, the suspect was startled and fled the area. Fortunately, the victim was not injured.
As detectives continued to investigate the robberies, alert patrol officers located a witness who provided them with a possible identity of the suspect. The officers communicated their findings to the detectives.
On September 3, 2015, detectives located and arrested 26-year-old Chiffonce Dion Pace, a resident of Long Beach. A search warrant was executed and detectives recovered evidence related to one of the robberies.
The case was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for review and on September 8, 2015, two counts of kidnap to commit robbery were filed against Pace. The arraignment was held today and he remains in custody on $1,000,000 bail.
