cyber bullying workshop long beach

Councilwoman Suzie Price invites the public to a free family workshop exploring all aspects of social media, specifically, cyber bullying and internet safety on Saturday October 24, from 9 AM – 12 PM at California State University, Long Beach, CBA building, Room 140. The workshop provides a fun and empowering morning of games, role playing and reflection geared towards 5th through 8th graders, and their parents. “I have zero tolerance for people who pick on others because they are different and I have zero tolerance for cliques,” said Councilwoman Price. “We need to look at our policies with the future of our children in the forefront of our minds.” Special Agent Todd Munoz, FBI, Los Angeles Division will present powerful strategies for dealing with the opportunities and dangers of social media in today’s fast-paced world. “Stopping youth violence is my responsibility, but it is yours too,” said Price. Councilwoman Price will be partnering with The Canopy Connection to bring this event to the youth in our city. For more information about the workshop, call 562.570.6300 or email Antonella.Schaub@longbeach.gov to RSVP.
