LB Police Chase Stolen Ambulance Through Long Beach
On Wednesday night Long Beach Police were dispatched to a report of a stolen ambulance in the area of Long Beach Blvd and Bixby Road (The South Bay Ambulance was unoccupied at the time.) LBPD officers observed the vehicle around 11:20pm and attempted to pull the ambulance over when it failed to yield to officers and a pursuit was initiated police say. The chase then went into north Long Beach near Artesia and Cherry, then going south with speeds exceeding 60mph. Several officers where set up ahead of the vehicle with spike strips to try and stop the suspect. After successfully puncturing the front right tire the ambulance safely came to a stop in the area of Livingston and Termino around 11:35pm. Carlos Rene Garciaaguillon, 25 years and a resident of Long Beach, was booked for evading, grand theft auto and vehicle theft. He is being held at Long Beach City Jail on $75,000 bail LBPD spokeswomen Marlene Arrona says. The investigation is ongoing.
