LBPD Seek Public’s Help With Locating Murder Suspect

Long Beach Police are asking for the public’s help with locating Albert Rodriguez in connection with the murder of Ruben Barrera.

On June 5, 2015, at approximately, 11:55 p.m., Long Beach Police responded to a shooting in the 5400 block of Elm Avenue, which resulted in the death of 18-year-old Ruben Martinez Barrera of Long Beach, who was struck by gunfire in the upper body.

Homicide detectives conducted an extensive investigation that revealed Albert Jesse Rodriguez, 19-years-old and a resident of Wilmington, shot and killed the victim during a gang-related dispute. Detectives presented their case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and on June 19, 2015, a $2,000,000 arrest warrant was issued.

Rodriguez remains outstanding and should be considered armed and dangerous.
