“Your Light Matters”

On Thursday, December 10 at the Hilton Hotel on Ocean Boulevard. The purpose of the event is to raise funds in support of their year-round programs serving the homeless and hurting in Long Beach, which provide emergency shelter, warm meals, job training, and spiritual counseling.

The evening featured silent and live auctions, dinner, and live entertainment, all while celebrating the thousands of men, women and children’s lives that have been changed during Long Beach Rescue Mission’s 43 years in the community.

Summer Rona, a dynamic performer, singer and song writer, provided inspirational music with her band of notable talent, including Roman Johnson on the keys (Stevie Wonder, The Gap Band, The Temptations), Iajhi Hampden on the drums, Pelle Sebastian Hillstrom on guitar (Nine Inch Nails, Modwheelmood), Daniele De Cario on bass guitar (Evan Schoombie, Alan Scott, Albino Montisci), and Ginny Luke on violin (Nicki Minaj, Skylar Grey, Britney Spears, Ruben Studdard).

Hollywood producer and media consultant, Phil Cooke, presented an engaging glance inside the everyday work of the Long Beach Rescue Mission, focusing on the healing aspects their efforts provide for individuals, families, and the community.

The Long Beach Rescue Mission serves the homeless and hurting by providing over 63,000 nights of safe shelter per year, over 187,000 warm meals per year, job training, and spiritual counseling.
