Long Beach Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Suspect

The Long Beach Police Department would like to alert the community to an incident involving a male subject who inappropriately touched a minor at a local restaurant. The Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect.

On Sunday, January 24, 2016, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to a restaurant in the area of Pacific Coast Highway and Second Street. The preliminary investigation indicated, around 7:45 p.m., an adult male suspect inappropriately touched a child in the men’s restroom and fled. The child is under 10 years old.

Detectives are releasing video surveillance footage of the suspect, hoping that someone will recognize him and come forward. The suspect is described as follows:

Age:                                    20 to 30 years
Physical Description:        Thin build, dark hair, mustache
Clothing:                            Wearing a red hoodie sweatshirt, dark pants, and a baseball cap

Following the incident, patrol officers searched for the suspect in the area. Law enforcement agencies in the region have been alerted and the investigation remains ongoing.
