Off-Duty Police Officer, Wife Found Dead In Long Beach Condo Monday Night

On Monday, November 21, 2016, at approximately 9:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to a possible domestic violence call in the 1000 block of Park Avenue.

Arriving officers found a female adult and a male adult with what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the upper torsos. Long Beach Fire Department personnel determined the female deceased at the scene. The male was transported, in critical condition, to a local hospital and later succumbed to his injuries.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene to begin their investigation. The incident is being investigated as a possible murder-suicide.

The Los Angeles County Coroner will determine official cause of death.

The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Greta Kurian, a resident of Long Beach.

The suspect has been identified as 25-year-old Kyle Kurian, a resident of Long Beach.

Kyly Kurian was recently hired as a South Gate Police officer, according to Lt. Darren Arakawa of the SGPD. They are working with LBPD on the investigation Arakawa said.

The two were married and had two children. The children, a toddler and an infant, were located unharmed in the residence and were taken into protective care by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.
