Police Investigate Two Separate Shootings This Morning In Long Beach

On Tuesday 4/11/17 at approx. 2:15 a.m., officers responded to a local hospital regarding a shooting victim.

Officers learned the victim, a male adult, was in the area of Anaheim Street & Pacific Avenue when he was approached by a male subject and subsequently shot. The victim walked to a nearby hospital and was treated for a non-life threatening injury.

The investigation is ongoing.

Also this morning at approx 6:50 a.m., officers responded to the 1000 block of E. Market Street regarding a shooting.

A male, approx. 20 years of age who had been struck by gunfire was located. He was transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased.

The incident is not related to a nearby middle school. No suspect info is available at this time

The incident is being investigated as possibly gang-related
