Thousands Attended Festival of Flight at Long Beach Airport

The Festival of Flight free community event brought thousands with static aircraft displays, live music, food trucks and a children’s activity area.
“Long Beach Airport’s Festival of Flight is a wonderful way to show the community how important aviation has been to our City’s history,” said Mayor Robert Garcia. “It is a great opportunity for the public to learn about what a significant role our airport plays in the region’s economy, and a fun event for the whole family, so I encourage everyone to join me there.”
Highlights of the festival include:
Helicopter tours by Anthelion Helicopters
Radio personality Joey Quenga as Master of Ceremonies.
A special opening ceremony by the California State Military Reserve from Joint Forces Training Base Los Alamitos color guard.
The Condor Squadron of WWII-era warbirds will conduct a formation flyover at the opening of the event.
Participation of Airport partners such as fixed-base operators, helicopter operators, and law enforcement divisions.
Displays that will include a C-17 from March Air Force Base, Virgin Orbit’s “Cosmic Girl” 747, a Gulfstream G650 jet.
Numerous free activities for kids, consisting of Aquarium of the Pacific’s Aquarium on Wheels, Euro Bungee, face painting and games.
Live music provided by MOVE, Rumble Kings, and the Scotty Mac Band.
