Officials Investigate Fatal Apartment Fire in  Belmont Shore. Long Beach Fire was called tonight just before 11:30pm to reports of explosion and fire at 38th Place near Ocean and Termino. Firefighters arrived to an apartment with heavy smoke showing from the roof.

A man escaped the blaze with minor injuries, a woman was trapped and rescued by @longbeachfirefighters the woman unfortunately later died at the hospital.

Two other apartment units in the complex suffered smoke and water damage. LBFD was able to knock down the fire in about 20 minutes. No other injuries reported
