EMERGE: Art Fair welcomes emerging collectors and young art patrons to Long Beach Museum of Art

The Long Beach Museum of Art welcomes emerging art collectors and young art patrons to EMERGE, a unique art fair that features the work of 7 emerging to mid-career artists based in Southern California. Showcasing a diverse range of media, including paintings, works on paper, and sculptures, EMERGE provides an intimate art platform for discovering, exploring and acquiring work from the creators themselves. Presented in the Nussbaum Parlor of the Museum, the fair takes place December 8 – 9 from 11 am – 4 pm.

Hand selected by the Museum, this year’s EMERGE introduces artists Karla Camacho, Joel Michalski of Joel Thomas Design, Jaye Joslin Russell, and Judson Studios to the Long Beach community, alongside familiar faces: Sharif Farrag, LBMA’s Artist in Residence this past summer; San Diego-based artist, Spenser Little, who was featured in the third iteration of VITALITY & VERVE III at LBMA; and Narsiso Martinez, whose compelling story of endurance and intricate art making can be experienced in FARM FRESH, the artist’s first institutional solo-exhibition currently on view at LBMA. Within their allotted sections, each participating artist will transform their space with a curated selection of their own creations, shedding light into their studio practices. The variation of art making explored by these artists provides a thought-provoking platform for dialogue and visitor experience of learning to collect, or finding new work to add to an existing collection.

LBMA thrives in nurturing the early stages of an artist’s career. Whether they be recent graduates, or just beginning to exhibit locally, or throughout California, EMERGE is organized by the Museum Education Department, in support of these artists. Come meet these creative individuals and join us in celebrating what art has to offer art admirers curious to learn more. Tickets can be purchased at the Front Desk of the Hartman Pavilion.
