LBPD K9 Help Seize 32 Bundles of Illegal Narcotics and Firearm
On March 21, 2019, at approximately 12:45 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop near East 36th Street at Cherry Avenue for unsafe lane change.
While officers were conducting the traffic stop, the male adult driver admitted to having drugs in the car and the narcotics K-9 unit was called to assist.
A K-9 search of the vehicle recovered 15 bundles of various illegal narcotics.
30-year-old Fernando Montano of Long Beach and 37-year-old Daisy Moya of Long Beach were taken into custody and booked for possession of a controlled substance and transporting/selling methamphetamine and are both being held on $1 million bail.
During the initial investigation, detectives learned that there was additional drugs at Montano and Moya’s residence.
A warrant was issued where an additional 32 bundles of various illegal narcotics and a firearm was recovered.
The investigation is ongoing.
