The Queen Mary’s 2nd Annual Queensway 5K
Thursday March 28th 4:00pm
Lace up your high-top sneakers and walk, run, or jog through the Queen Mary’s Events Park and the ever-beautiful Long Beach harbor. Back for its second year, the Queensway 5K is a family-friendly event and festival, providing an opportunity to celebrate the Long Beach community, businesses and organizations, all right here at the iconic Queen Mary. The course takes you across the Queensway Bridge for breathtaking views of the Long Beach city skyline, ending at the Queen Mary Events Park for the finish line celebrations. At the finish line there will be music, celebration medals and a speech, also food and a beer garden! A portion of the Queensway 5K proceeds will be donated to the Long Beach Rescue Mission and The Assistance League of Long Beach.

Wine Tasting on Gondola Getaway

A Gondola Wine Tasting Cruise through theEnchanting Canals of the Naples Islands. Looking for date night ideas? Gondola Getaway offers one of the most fun and unique wine tastings. You will board their large Gondola “The Caorlina” that is set up with a custom charcuterie and wine tasting table. Two Gondoliers and a wine expert from the winery will taste you on at least 5 wines from their Vineyards while you nibble on an Italian style charcuterie selection. Parent and Me: Sharks

Learn Together as a Family. Join the Aquarium for a fun and interactive class for the whole family. Parent and Me classes allow adults and children to learn together through play, movement, and exploration. Children will use their observation skills to explore shapes, colors, and textures while touching animals in a private classroom, touring Aquarium exhibits, and participating in hands on activities related to the theme. After your class, revisit your favorite exhibits. Aquarium admission is included!
Sharks:
Learn all about this fascinating, toothy predator! During this 1 ½ hour program, you and your child will:
Touch invertebrates in our private classroom touch pool
Take a guided tour of Shark Lagoon
Create a fun, ocean-themed craft to take home
Compare and contrast shark teeth from different species

Night Dive is an adults-only event with local bands rockin’ out right next to the fish, DJs spinning in the Aquarium’s galleries, inspiring works of art, cocktails and drinks, and tasty bites from food trucks. Turn up and take it all in!

Port of Long Beach PHOTO Gallery Pop-up: The Port of Long Beach is more than an economic engine – it can be a source of surprising beauty and a feast for the creative eye. The Port’s PHOTO Program, in partnership with the Arts Council for Long Beach, hosts photographers of all skill levels on a behind-the-scenes photography harbor tour through the Green Port of the Future. The PHOTO Gallery pop-up will debut at Night Dive and be on display through May 17.

Open Conversations: Port of Long Beach PHOTO Gallery Pop-up and Maritime Photography Talk: Join the Arts Council and Port of Long Beach for an insightful talk on maritime photography at 8:00 p.m. in our Ocean Theater. Port of Long Beach photographer Tim Rue, who was featured in Bloomberg’s 2018 Year in Pictures, will talk about his adventures documenting maritime life from the air, land, and sea. Also hear from Arts Council Artist Registry photographer Eddie Davila, who uses photography to document the ocean and surrounding environment. Learn about the Port of Long Beach’s PHOTO Program and view the Port of Long Beach PHOTO Gallery pop-up collection, which features photos from the 2018 PHOTO Program collection.

Camerata Kinder Konzert – Meet Mr. Brahms
3/30/2019
10:15 pm – 12:30 pm
Long Beach Camerata Singers and Rancho Los Alamitos present “Meet Mr. Brahms,” an interactive music-learning event focused on the vocal arts for children aged 3 to 8 years. Children will have fun while learning about melody, tempo, harmony, and conducting in this year’s Kinder Konzert. The program will begin in the Rancho Room with a 30-minute play highlighting Mr. Brahms’ childhood and will feature Brahms’ Lullaby. Following the music program, there will be arts and crafts activities plus refreshments for the children outside on the lawn of the Barns Area. Kids and grown-ups will enjoy making memories together. Guests are asked to arrive no later than 10:15 am as the program will start promptly at 10:3o am and will conclude by 12:30pm.

11th Annual Summer Camp Fair

Do you just want a couple hours of ‘me’ time? Over 30 summer camp providers, for kiddos from Kinder to 8th grade are going to be in one spot on March 31st! Some are brand new, some are veterans of our Lowell event. This is your opportunity to come chat with providers, get your questions answered and the kids will have a blast running around checking out all the activities. Help us spread the word and invite your friends and neighbors. The 11th Annual Lowell Summer Camp Fair is open to all!

Help plant trees along 6th St. as you come off the freeway by Edison Elementary. It’s going to look so nice as Residents and Visitors alike drive in to Long Beach!!!
Starting @ 8am with coffee and donuts. Please come and help for as long as you can. Even an hour helps tremendously…. come at 10 if you must – really any help is needed. We will end when we have planted the last tree.
