Police Identify 77-year-old Woman Killed in 405 Crash
A collision on the San Diego (405) freeway In Long Beach, left a 77-year old woman, Judith Blankenfeld, dead.
The Hawaii resident was reported dead around 9:40 p.m. on Monday on the
southbound 405, south of Lakewood Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Incident involved a 78-year old man driving a 2018 Tesla with a second passenger, a 73-year old woman who are both from San Clemente. Both suffered minor injuries and refused treatment.
Unfortunately, Blankenfeld, the victim was not wearing a seatbelt. The Tesla driver made an unsafe turn causing to collide with a raised concrete curb at the end of the Lakewood Boulevard on-ramp. Next, the
Tesla traveled on the right shoulder, which struck an unoccupied 2011 Chevrolet, the CHP reported.
Then, she was ejected onto the number five southbound lane, where she was struck by a 2008 BMW driven by a 54-year-old Long Beach woman, according to the CHP.
