Bike Tour of Long Beach
As a way to promote a healthy life style, Long Beach is participating in National Bike Month. On May 11, 2019 the city will be hosting The Tour Of Long Beach starting at the Long Beach Convention Center at 8:30 A.M. This is the 10th annual event where participants can join the fight against pediatric cancer through the Jonathan Jaques Children’s Cancer Institute and Memorial Care Miller Children’s and Women’s Hospital Long Beach.
Participants can choose between the 5-mile family fun ride, which runs along the Beach Bicycle Path. The 30-mile ride which is the most popular, and if you’re looking for something more intense you can choose the 60-mile metric century with plenty fast straightaways from Long Beach to Newport Beach along Pacific Coast Highway, or 100-mile Cruz Granfondo with a mix of steep climbs, fast straights and fun descents to Laguna Beach Canyon and back.
Some important things to know are prices vary according to pre and post registration, race, and fundraising is mandatory. The event requires mandatory helmet use and encourages safety for all.
