Man Hospitalized with Burns After Fire in Drug Processing Facility
A man was hospitalized after a fire breaks out in North Long Beach. LBFD battled the 2nd Alarm commercial fire earlier today, on the 3300 block of E. 59th Street.
Long Beach Fire was called at 1:45PM with reports of heavy smoke and fire showing from the building.
Long Beach police spokeswoman Shaunna Dandoy said that the warehouse was possibly being used to extract hash oil from marijuana using butane.
The male patient in his 30’s transported with 40% burns to area trauma center, no other injuries reported.
LBFD extinguished the blaze in about a half hour preventing spread to adjacent businesses.
First responders on scene discovered drug processing equipment and chemicals.
