Four Arrested In Long Beach PD South Division Check Point
On Saturday June 29th, Long Beach Police Department’s South Division conducted a DUI Checkpoint on 7th Ave and Locust from 6 PM to 2 AM, where 4 people were arrested on suspicion of Driving under the influence of Alcohol or Drugs. With more than 1,100 vehicles that passed through the checkpoint, 427 drivers were screened at random. In addition to the DUI arrest, 14 drivers were cited for driving without a license, 8 drivers were cited for driving on a revoked or suspended license, and 3 people were cited for unsafe driving.
Long Beach PD would like to remind to have a designated driver, and that a DUI charge is not just considered alcohol content, drugs can also constitute a DUI. A first DUI conviction in California is a misdemeanor. Anyone convicted faces fines and a number of “penalty assessments” that could increase fees substantially.
