Huntington Meats and Sausages to Treat Those Struggling with Homelessness to Sausage BBQ Lunch Oct. 15 in Celebration of National Sausage Month.
Butchery Owner and Staff to Serve Up Multi-Course Lunch October 15 at Long Beach Rescue Mission
Long Beach, CA—(October 10, 2019)—Huntington Meats & Sausages, an old fashion butcher shop that provides the finest meats and sausages to restaurants and retail customers throughout Los Angeles county, will treat 250 men, women and children struggling with homelessness in Long Beach to a BBQ sausage lunch experience at Long Beach Rescue Mission (1335 Pacific Avenue, Long Beach) on Tuesday, October 15th with two seatings at 11am and noon.
Proprietor Jim Cascone and head butcher Jon Escobedo, who recently competed on The Butcher on the History Channel, along with staff from Huntington Meats will grill up several varieties of their famous sausages, served along with salad and baked beans. The community event is being held in conjunction with October being National Sausage Month.
“Treating those that may not be able to otherwise enjoy the products we offer is something we’ve started doing on a regular basis,” said Jim Cascone, who most recently served up a BBQ lunch for 400 clients of the Union Rescue Mission in Downtown LA in January. “Like everywhere in LA County, Long Beach has a growing homelessness and hunger concern, and we plan to keep doing events like these around the city.”
“We were excited and thankful when Huntington Meats & Sausages approached us about grilling up their famous sausages and serving lunch to our clients,” said Chaplain Robert Probst, Executive Director at Long Beach Rescue Mission. “Our clientele does not get the opportunity to enjoy this kind of specialty very often so this will be very much appreciated.”
