Long Beach Nonprofit California Families in Focus Needs Your Help Pampering 500 Women and Children Living in Shelters during Christmas
California Families in Focus (CFF) will host its 16th Annual Spirit of Christmas Brunch on December 21, 2019. With your help, the private event for women and children living in domestic violence, drug rehab, and homeless shelters during the holidays will provide each individual with self-esteem bags containing pajamas, hair care products, makeup, jewelry, self-empowerment books, and other personal hygiene products.
This restorative day will revolve around the word “Believe” and participants will be immersed in a Polar Express theme to transport them to a safe space filled with food, empowerment, entertainment, and love. A former participant from a shelter described this event best: “My children and I have never had such a beautiful experience as this, much less during the Christmas holiday. This is an experience I will never forget and that will be ingrained in our minds for the rest of our lives. I’m sure I speak for the rest of the women at the shelter that this was an unforgettable event. Truly, I cannot find the words to express how grateful we are to have received so much attention and affection.”
Another former participant said, “This event reminds us that there is hope of a better life, a life without violence and abuse. I hope in the future you will do this again.”
CFF is in need of event sponsors and donations to make this day possible. Please contact Angel Macias in order to drop off items, monetary donations or to become a sponsor.
