Double shooting at gambling facility in North Long Beach

On Monday night two men were shot near Artesia Blvd and Lemon at 9:20 p.m. LBPD officers responded to the 1100 block of E. Artesia regarding a shooting.

When police arrived they contacted a male adult victim with gunshot wounds to his upper and lower torso.

The Long Beach Fire Department responded and transported the victim to a local hospital in stable condition.

While on scene, officers were notified a second male adult victim had self-transported to a local hospital with gunshot wound to his upper and lower torso, also in stable condition said Long Beach Police PIO Jennifer De Prez.

Vice and Gang detectives responded to the scene, preliminary information revealed the shooting occurred inside of an illegal gambling facility.

The motive for the shooting is believed to be robbery-related. Suspect information is unknown at this time.

3 male adults and one female adult have been detained at the scene and were later released.

East and Westbound Artesia were closed between Orange and Lewis for the ongoing investigation.

The investigation is ongoing.
