LBPD search for hit-and-run driver after pedestrian is struck

Long Beach police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who left the scene of a crash in downtown area Wednesday evening.

On Wednesday night around 8:39pm Long Beach Police officers were dispatched to the area of 3rd St and Atlantic Ave regarding a traffic collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian.

Upon arrival, officers located a female adult, unconscious and breathing, lying in the road said Long Beach Police PIO Shaunna Dandoy. Long Beach Fire treated her at the scene, transported her to a local hospital, and she is currently in critical but stable condition.

The suspect vehicle, described as a Honda, four door, dark blue or black in color, fled the collision prior to officers’ arrival.

The investigation is ongoing.
