Double shooting on West Side of Long Beach

On Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m., LBPD officers were in the area of Santa Fe Ave and W. 19th St when they heard shots in the area. While canvassing the area, officers were made aware of a male and female victim, both with gunshot wounds to their upper torso, in the 1600 block of W. 19th St. said Shaunna Dandoy Long Beach Police spokesperson.

The Long Beach Fire Department arrived and transported both victims to a local hospital in critical condition. The suspect was believed to be inside a residence in the 1600 block of W. 19th St.
Police set up a perimeter and streets were closed for about an hour. The suspect was eventually taken into custody, the investigation is ongoing.
