Police chase suspected stolen vehicle in Long Beach Thursday morning

Long Beach police department were in pursuit of a suspected stolen vehicle early Thursday morning. LBPD officers identified a stolen vehicle around 5:50am in the area of Long Beach Blvd. and the 405 freeway. Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, the vehicle fled and a vehicle pursuit was initiated.

The police chase went on the 91 freeway, then south on the 710 before heading to San Pedro.

The suspect continued into an alley in a residential area where he left the vehicle Gaffrey and First streets. 

Police learned that the adult male suspect had exited the vehicle and entered a residence located in the 700 block of W. First Street said Long Beach Police spokesperson Jennifer De Prez.

Officers believe the residence is known to the suspect, however the exact nature is currently unknown. Police have established a perimeter to search for the suspect and are attempting to call him out.

UPDATE: 10:59am

K-9 units responded to assist in the search of the suspect. Officers conducted a search of the residence. The suspect was located inside the residence and taken into custody without incident.

The residence was occupied by an adult male subject and adult female suspect. The female suspect is being taken into custody for aiding and abetting

The relationship between the male suspect, female suspect, and male subject is currently unknown.

The investigation is ongoing.
