16-year-old male shot in North Long Beach

This is the 5th shooting in 12 hours in the City of Long Beach. The latest shooting was a 16-year-old male shot near 59th and Atlantic in North Long Beach.

When LBPD officers arrived they located a 16-year-old male juvenile with a gunshot wound to his lower torso. The victim was transported to a local hospital where it was determined that the gunshot wound was non-life threatening.

Safety checks were conducted in the area to ensure no additional victims were shot. No suspect description is available at this time.

Though the reason for the shooting is unknown, Gang Detectives are investigating the incident.
