By the Numbers (Long Beach only):
- 5,616 total positive results
- 149 fatalities
- 97 people hospitalized
- Approximately 4,102 recovered (Please note that, for low-risk patients recovering at home, recovery data is self-reported)

Details Regarding Fatalities:
- 112 are associated with long-term care facilities
- Ages:
- 2 were in their 40s
- 9 were in their 50s
- 31 were in their 60s
- 33 were in their 70s
- 50 were in their 80s
- 24 were over 90
- 69 female, 80 male
- All individuals had underlying health conditions
- At this time, to avoid risk to patient privacy, no further details will be provided
Long-Term Care Facility Case Information:
- 1,019 positive cases have been confirmed at a total of 31 long-term care facilities (LTCF) in the city since the start of the pandemic (see attachment).
- Thirty-one is a cumulative number; the Health Department is currently monitoring long-term care facilities with active cases. These cases include both facility residents and staff members (who may not be residents).
- Long Beach has a total of 71 LTCFs, including assisted living and skilled nursing, that are currently open and operating in the city.
- In line with the California Department of Public Health’s standard for listing skilled nursing facilities with positive cases, the City is listing facilities currently experiencing outbreaks (more than two cases of COVID-19) including counts for health care workers and residents.

- Information regarding positive cases, hospitalizations and demographic breakdown is available online at longbeach.gov/COVID19 and on the City’s digital dashboard, providing the most up-to-date information available (see attachment).
Today’s Highlights:
- Today, Governor Gavin Newsom announced statewide closure of several indoor operations. A press release will be issued later today with more details.
- A public-facing temporary employee, not a Long Beach resident, who was hired in association with the COVID-19 response has tested positive for the virus. Their last day at work was July 8, and they are currently isolating at home.
- City-run testing sites will have new hours starting Wednesday, July 15, as indicated below. Appointments are required for all testing sites and can be made online or by calling 562.570.INFO (4636).
- Long Beach City College Pacific Coast Campus (1305 Pacific Coast Hwy.), 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays
- Long Beach City College Veterans Memorial Stadium (5000 E. Lew Davis St.), 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays
- Cabrillo High School (2001 Santa Fe Ave.), 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 p.m to 5 p.m., on weekends
- The Rapid Assessment Clinic at Long Beach City College Pacific Coast Campus (1305 Pacific Coast Hwy.), which provides testing for symptomatic patients, and limited healthcare, will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays. The clinic is walk-in only.
- The City of Long Beach is encouraging residents to provide input on the City’s budget by participating in a Budget Priority Survey available now and continuing throughout the budget process.

- Amendments to the Self-Isolation and Quarantine orders requiring individuals with COVID-19 to self-isolate, and those at risk to self-quarantine (5/8)
- An additional health order further protects those living in congregate health facilities (4/15)
