Two Rescued After Boat Collides With Breakwater and Sinks
Late Wednesday night, July 14 at 11:30 pm, LBFD Lifeguards were dispatched to the Long Beach breakwater as a 65′ powerboat collided with rocks at significant speed.
The collision proved detrimental to the vessel’s operations and put the occupants in a life-threatening situation. LBFD Lifeguards rescued two people and two dogs who were aboard at the time of the crash. One dog is still missing at this time and is thought to be deceased. With minimal injuries, one of the passengers was treated on scene and later released.
