Long Beach Arts Council Announces 2021-2022 Annual Grant Cycle Applications are Open
The Arts Council for Long Beach is excited to announce that the 2021–2022 Annual Grant Cycle Applications and Guidelines are now available. Applications and Guidelines can be found on the Arts Council website at http://www.artslb.org/grants.
The Arts Council provides three types of annual grants to fund Long Beach artists, organizations, and initiatives: the Community Project Grant; Operating Grants I & II, and Professional Artist Fellowship Grants. These grants are generously supported through the City of Long Beach’s allocation for the arts.
The Community Project Grant program supports the exemplary artistic, cultural, and arts educational projects of arts and cultural organizations in Long Beach. Through Community Project Grant programs, the Arts Council encourages innovative, creative, and unique programming and supports cultural projects that meet diverse community needs.
Operating Grants provide unrestricted operating support to Long Beach-based arts and cultural organizations that collect, preserve, present, and/or commission exemplary works of art (e.g., art exhibitions, film and/or media arts, theatre, dance, and/or musical performances). Works of art must be of regional significance, for the benefit of the general public and provide educational opportunities that enable audiences to better understand and appreciate the arts.
The Professional Artist Fellowship honors a selection of Long Beach’s living artists. These awards recognize artists who live, work or actively create in Long Beach and demonstrate an active exhibition and/or production record of at least three years. Awards are granted based on artistic merit and professional achievement.
