U.S. Marshals Involved Shooting in Long Beach

On Thursday a U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force was in the area of 12th street and Cedar avenue in Long Beach following a subject into an alley around 12:50pm when that person began firing at the U.S. Marshals.

The U. S. Marshals returned gunfire, no one was hit during the shooting.

A witness who wanted to remain anonymous stated that he heard about 9-10 gunshots and he was surprised no one was struck by gunfire.

The suspect was taken to a local hospital for other injuries not related to the shooting.

Long Beach Police is assisting with the investigation. The area was taped off for hours in the Willmore neighborhood. We will update this story when it becomes available.
