15 and 16-year-old juveniles shot in Long Beach
Early Sunday morning, at 6:35 a.m., Long Beach Police officers responded to the 1600 block of East 14th streetregarding a shots call.
When LBPD officers located one 15-year-old and one 16-year-old juvenile, each suffering from respective gunshot wounds to the upper and lower body.
The victims stated they were standing in the area when a vehicle pulled up nearby, and an unknown number of suspects from inside the vehicle shot them. The vehicle fled the scene prior to officer’s arrival.
The Long Beach Fire Department responded and transported the victims to local hospitals with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
Officers located evidence, including casings and a multiunit residence that was struck by gunfire, indicating a shooting had occurred. No other injuries were reported.
At this time, no suspect information is available, and the motive for the shooting is unknown.
Gang detectives responded and are actively conducting their investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
