Cali Vibes is Bringing Reggae to Long Beach
The three-day music festival California Vibrations, or Cali Vibes, will be taking place in Long Beach at Marina Green Park from Feb 4 through 6.
Cali Vibes is featuring music from some of the top performers in reggae and hip hop such as Sean Paul, Wu-Tang Clan, and The Marley Brothers who will be celebrating their father’s 77th birthday on Saturday show with a special performance.
The lineup starts at 12 p.m. each day of the festival and includes performances from over 50 artists on three different stages in the venue. Performances will be available to live stream for free at eMusic Live where fans can also access virtual meet and greets digital music, and NFTs from their favorite artists.
VIP ticket holders will have access to the VIP lounge which includes specialty food and beverage options as well as a full bar. Those looking for even better vibes can purchase tickets to the Beach Club which gives guests access to complimentary merchandise, food, and upfront views of the main stage.
On top of providing a serious lineup of performers, Cali Vibes has also partnered with Weedmaps to give festival-goers an opportunity to connect with brands in the festival’s Weedmaps Village. Weedmaps is offering discounts, fast track entrance, and free ticket upgrades to festival attendees who download the Weedmaps app.
This year’s festival is the first to keep cannabis off of the prohibited items list however cannabis is not available for purchase inside the venue. Despite the venue rules Weedmaps is able to provide products to Cali Vibes attendees.
“Festival goers will be able to order weed on the Weedmaps app, and get it delivered to Weedmaps’ delivery zone, “The Plug”, outside the event,” said a Weedmaps employee.
The Weedmaps village will also feature art exhibits including “Flowers Are Not A Crime” by artist Laurie Shapiro.
“The title of the installation was chosen to bring awareness to the fact that while cannabis continues to be legalized around the U.S. and many can profit from it, there are still over 40,000 people – disproportionately minorities – behind bars for cannabis-related charges,” said the Weedmaps employee.
Festival-goers should be aware that while cigarettes and vapes are allowed in the venue liquid vape refills cannot be brought in and security can confiscate any drugs or drug paraphernalia at their discretion.
In order to make sure vibes are the only thing, guests will be catching at the festival proof of vaccination or negative covid test will be required to enter the venue. Rapid testing will be available outside of the venue and will be operating from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. all three days of the festival.
