Two Overnight Shootings in Long Beach
Two unrelated shootings occurred within hours of each other last night leaving two people injured.
The first occurred on the 22 hundred block of Locust avenue. at approximately 8:46 p.m, officers were dispatched to the scene regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call.
Upon arrival they contacted a female adult victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the upper body. Preliminary information suggests the victim was inside her residence when an unknown suspect discharged a firearm towards the victim from an unknown direction, striking the victim.
No suspect information nor motive is known at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
The second shooting, just hours later, took place near the 1100 block of Daisy ave.
It’s being reported that the victim, who was possibly shot around the 710/405 interchange, sustained a gunshot wound to the lower body.
The suspect’s description is unknown at this time and CHP is currently investigating.
