Police Investigate Dead Body Found in LA River

This morning at 6:21 a.m., Long Beach police officers responded to the area of Pacific Coast Highway and the Los Angeles Riverbed to assist the Long Beach Fire Department regarding a report of a dead body. 

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office has been contacted and will respond to the scene to assist with the investigation.  It was too early to determine a cause of death or the identity of the person. At this time, no information regarding the decedent nor the circumstances of their death have yet been determined, the spokesperson said. Traffic on Pacific Coast Highway is constricted as officers are currently on scene. The investigation is ongoing.
