Tragic Shooting Claims Life of 17-Year-Old Girl in Long Beach

Long Beach, CA – Homicide detectives are currently investigating the heart-wrenching case of a fatal shooting that took the life of Briana Soto a 17-year-old girl on March 26, 2024.

According to authorities, the incident unfolded around 8:26 p.m. in the vicinity of 11th Street and Lewis Avenue.

LBPD officers swiftly responded to reports of gunfire and discovered the teenage victim with a gunshot wound to her upper body. LBPD officers administered immediate medical assistance before she was rushed to the hospital by personnel from the Long Beach Fire Department.

Tragically, despite efforts to save her, the victim passed away on March 30th at a local hospital. Upon investigation into the events of that fateful evening, homicide detectives revealed that the victim was walking home from work when she was confronted by the perpetrator(s), leading to the fatal shooting.

The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation as authorities continue to piece together the details surrounding this senseless tragedy.The Long Beach community mourns the loss of yet another young life.
