UPDATE: Uber Driver Under Investigation in Long Beach

Long Beach police are investigating a possible kidnapping involving an Uber driver. Officers responded to the Long Beach Town Center just after 1:30 PM Wednesday, where they found a mother who believes the driver may have accidentally driven away with her 7 month old child.

The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department is assisting LBPD in the search for the driver. Authorities are currently checking an address in Hawaiian Gardens but have been unable to contact the driver for over 30 minutes. This is a developing story.

Update: the Uber driver was located in Downey. She says she didn’t realize the baby was in the backseat until it started crying. Baby is safe and reunited with mother safely by police.
