Diesel Spill Shuts Down Northbound 710 Freeway in Long Beach
LONG BEACH, Calif. — A major diesel spill has forced the closure of all lanes on the northbound 710 Freeway near Del Amo Boulevard in Long Beach, prompting the California Highway Patrol (CHP) to issue a SigAlert early Thursday morning.

The alert was issued at 4:54 a.m., and officials say the closure is expected to remain in effect until at least noon. Traffic is being diverted off the freeway at Del Amo Boulevard as cleanup crews work to clear the hazardous spill.
Drivers are strongly urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes to minimize delays. In addition to the diesel spill, a separate crash has also led to the closure of the northbound 710 at the 405 Freeway, worsening traffic congestion throughout the area.
Motorists should expect significant backups and plan accordingly.
