A woman was hospitalized early Wednesday morning after being struck by gunfire in North Long Beach, marking yet another violent incident as the city continues to grapple with recent shootings and stabbings.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, officers responded at approximately 3:21 a.m. on July 15, 2026, to the 6700 block of Long Beach Boulevard regarding a hit-shooting.
Preliminary investigators determined an unknown suspect fired multiple shots in the direction of an adult female victim, striking her. Long Beach Fire Department personnel transported the victim to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No suspect information has been released, and the investigation remains ongoing.
The latest shooting comes amid a string of recent violent crimes across Long Beach, including multiple shootings, stabbings, and last weekend’s officer-involved shooting in Bixby Knolls, where an off-duty Long Beach police officer was reportedly approached by armed robbery suspects, robbed at gunpoint, and fired his weapon during the confrontation.
