LONG BEACH, Calif. — Detectives with the Long Beach Police Department’s Burglary Detail are asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects involved in the theft of a pet parrot from a residence in the 3000 block of Cortner Avenue.
According to investigators, the theft occurred on June 5, 2026, at approximately 2:49 a.m. Surveillance footage shows two suspects approaching a cage located outside a residence. The suspects allegedly opened the cage, removed a Yellow-Naped Amazon Parrot, and fled northbound on Cortner Avenue on foot before reportedly entering a black sedan.
Police described the suspects as:
• Suspect #1: Male, wearing a blue hoodie, jeans, and white shoes.
• Suspect #2: Male, wearing dark clothing and dark-colored shoes.
The vehicle involved is described as a black sedan.
Detectives are urging anyone with information about the theft or the whereabouts of the stolen parrot to contact the LBPD Burglary Detail at 562-570-7351.
